Gun Owners of New Hampshire: Can this gang shoot straight?

Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin wonders out loud why the “Gun Owners of New Hampshire” is allowing “Slippery Scott” Brown to block media access and recorded access to his appearance before GONH. Andy is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and recently helped win a major Second Amendment lawsuit in federal court as amicus curiae. Are the GONH people acting as straight shooters when they adopt different standards for different candidates? The New Hampshire U. S. Senate race is becoming more and more bizarre. Andy says he may be the only “adult” in the Republican primary.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin asks why the Gun Owners of New Hampshire is “surrendering” to “Slippery Scott” Brown

Andy asks, “Are GONH members really gun owners? Or surrender merchants?”

“There should be one standard for all candidates: full access for the media, and no restrictions on cameras”

(Manchester, NH) (May 20, 2014)

Dear Republican:

I hate to be the adult in the New Hampshire U. S. Senate primary. But, honestly, have you ever seen a romper room of more egotistical, dishonest and simply incompetent candidates for the nation’s third highest office, U. S. Senator?

I have been tested at the highest levels of American politics: I was in the “cone of fire” during the 2008 presidential election when Barack Obama’s news secretary attacked me by name on national television. Obama is a smear merchant and he tried to smear me. But the more Obama attacked, and the more the New York Times put me on page 1 (the Times’ esteemed “most important media space in the world”) the more ordinary conservatives and Republicans knew I was the real deal. Obama lied about me because I was discovering the truth about him.

So what is the truth about the 2014 New Hampshire U. S. Senate candidates?

Scott Brown is one of the most accomplished liars in recent American political history. Plain talk: when I caught Scott Brown lying about his military service I lost all respect for the man. From his imaginary “mortar attacks” to his attempts to inflate what was in reality a congressional junket into military “service,” Brown is a thoroughly loathsome man. The fact that the political establishment in my party is supporting Brown is a prime example why many citizens have contempt for the Republican Party.

The other candidates? “Rusty” is as “rusty” does. Two of the three zombies (as I jocularly call them, Rubens, Smith and Testerman) have been politically “asleep” for over a decade. Then they woke up and decided they should be U. S. Senators. They went from over a decade of dreaming. To daydreams. Maybe I should call them Rip Van Winkle candidates rather than zombies.

The Gun Owners of New Hampshire (GONH) interviewed the three “zombies.” The zombies did not place any restrictions on taping of their appearances before GONH. It was all an open and regular new Hampshire-style meeting.

But Scott Brown, who is to appear tonight (May 20th) before GONH, demands that GONH prohibit taping of his appearance. In other words, Brown wants to be free to lie (that word again) to GONH while later denying what he said off the record.

Now you know why I call him “Slippery Scott” Brown. He’s for sale to the highest bidder, usually a billionaire, as Slippery Scott slithers through New Hampshire.

But why would GONH bend their rules only for Brown? Why the un-taped and un-recorded appearance tonight? What got into our  Second Amendment “fighters?” Looks like these boys and girls are shooting blanks when it comes to telling New Hampshire voters the truth abut Brown. Instead of making Brown bend to their rules, GONH is bending to his rules. I sure wouldn’t want these weaklings having my back in a battle.

What is supposed to happen at GONH is now part of an obvious pattern: Brown only agrees to appear at a meeting involving conservative issues when there is a prior deal to prevent audio and video recording of his remarks. Brown thinks that’s the way to win elections in New Hampshire. Maybe you win-by-lying in Massachusetts; but then Brown only recently crossed the state line with his political entourage. Brown really doesn’t know New Hampshire.

So why aren’t the three zombies (Rubens Smith and Testerman) screaming and protesting? Why aren’t they calling on the GONH to have one set of rules for all candidates? Because they are zombies, “dude.” How can my other primary opponents let Brown get away with his scams? Because they are not serious candidates anywhere but in their own minds.

So we have a candidate for public office in New Hampshire that refuses to be taped, so he can change his story from audience to audience. And we have three little zombies that are helpless to protest what the Fauxhamphire candidate does.

And then there is Andy Martin, the adult in the U. S. Senate primary.

Some candidates have to lie about and inflate their records. I just tell the truth about mine. Refreshing, isn’t it?

And you can record me any time you want. My story doesn’t change from group to group.

No wonder the establishment doesn’t like me.

I have asked GONH to appear before them at their June meeting.

Loyally,

Andy

P.S. Please do the right thing. Open your mind. Consider voting for me in the primary. You’ll be proud you did.

News Conference: Merrimack Business Association sued for involvement in U.S. Senate campaign fraud

New Hampshire U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin will hold a telephone news conference Tuesday, May 20th at 11:00 A.M. to announce he has filed a Superior Court lawsuit seeking to block a fraudulent Merrimack Business Association “forum” for U. S. Senate candidates from which he has been excluded. “For the past ten (10) months Jennifer Horn has been sabotaging my senate campaign,” Andy says. “Horn has been violating the New Hampshire Republican Party’s long history of open primaries and explicit prohibitions on party leaders taking sides in primary contests. But then Jennifer Horn does not think the IRS tax laws apply to her either. I have tried to look the other way, in the hopes that Horn would grow up and end the harassment. But Horn is one of the most immature and incompetent political leaders I have ever encountered. Horn is using her friends as dupes to campaign against me. She now has David McCray and Tom Young in court.

I have a national reputation as a leader of opposition to Barack Obama. I am a respected author, researcher and Republican activist. Other than Scot Brown I am the only primary candidate with national experience. Does Horn really think she can corrupt the primary process in New Hampshire and get away with it? New Hampshire voters want a primary campaign for the U. S. Senate. They do not want a ‘coronation.’ Horn’s misbehavior is ultimately going to lead to her own downfall,” Andy says.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Announcement of telephone news conference Tuesday, May 20th

Attention National, Political, New Hampshire Daybook & Assignment Editors

Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin files a lawsuit to expose dirty tricks by the Merrimack Business Association

Andy accuses the GOP’s Jennifer Horn of masterminding the harassment of Andy’s senate campaign using “dupes” such as David McCray and Tom Young

Andy says by attacking his campaign Jennifer Horn is setting up her own removal from the state GOP leadership

(Manchester, NH) (May 20, 2014)

Dear Republican:

This year I celebrate fifty (50) years of political activism. In a half century of public action I have always been respected as incorruptible, loyal and scrupulously accurate in all of my campaign activity. I am justifiably proud of my half century of public integrity and I do not intend to allow Jennifer Horn to besmirch me or my record.

Since last August Horn has been trying to manipulate local Republican committees, and her own state committee, into pretending I don’t exist and ignoring my senate candidacy.

You can hear me on the radio attacking Scott Brown in every part of New Hampshire. But in Jennifer Horn's warped mind I don't exist; she is trying to erase my candidacy.

Horn’s behavior violates not only the explicit rules of the New Hampshire Republican Party but also decades of past tradition and practice. In New Hampshire, all candidates are heard; the Republican Party s open to all. Voters can make up their own minds whom to support; they do not need Jennifer Horn to do that for them.

Horn does not publicly appear to attack me. She knows the rules. Rather, Horn tries to undermine me behind the scenes. She uses dupes such as local Republican committees and other “fronts” for her dirty tricks. But dirty tricks behind the scene are just as unlawful under GOP rules as public attacks.

Last week I filed suit to expose a dirty tricks operation by the Merrimack Business Association. Why would they not want to hear me debate? TV stations in the nation’s third largest media market always included me in televised debates. So I'm good enough to debate on TV in Chicago but not good enough for the Merrimack Business Association? Pathetic, isn't it? (Some of those old debates are on the Internet. If you are a junkie for watching old Andy debates just let me know and I'll send you links.)

I became a national political figure because of my activism in opposing Barack Obama and working tirelessly to elect Republican Party candidates. The New York Times put me on page 1 as a leading national story (they didn’t like what I was doing to Obama).

Ask my opponents in the current primary what they did to support Mitt Romney in 2012. Not much.

I am especially proud of having exposed two of the biggest frauds in recent military history. In 2010 Mark Kirk was humiliated when my research finally reached the Washington Post. Kirk had awarded himself imaginary medals, participated in imaginary battles and claimed to have served in military campaigns where he did not. Sound familiar?

Like Mark Kirk, Scott Brown has shamelessly embellished and exaggerated and inflated his military credentials. He told Massachusetts voters he “served” in Afghanistan. That was a lie. Now Brown is trying out the same old lies on New Hampshire voters. I won’t let “Slippery Scott” get away with lying about his military exaggerations. Not during the primary. Not ever.

Do other Republican leaders support Horn’s efforts to muzzle my campaign? We don’t know yet. But they are letting Horn get away with her dirty tricks. Horn and her minions are doing everything then can to deny I exist. Unfortunately, we are going to start suing committees that conduct secret senate candidate forums. Let the bad committees tell a judge why they violated party rules. We’ll smoke out the truth.

A copy of my Merrimack Business lawsuit, abridged and formatted for the Internet, is attached to emailed versions of this news release. (We don’t yet have a docket number but hope to receive one in the mail. The clerk takes a few of days to process a case but it is on file.)

If any state has a history of open politics and open primaries it is New Hampshire. Horn is trying to corrupt that tradition by “erasing” my campaign from the Republican Party.

What Horn is doing is obviously intended to protect Scott Brown. The other three “candidates” are sincere people but they lack any national experience, or recent national activity. Two of the candidates have been “mothballed” for from 12 to eighteen years.

Well, if Horn wants a fight, she has a fight on her hands. I wish she would start acting like an adult but that may be asking too much of Mrs. Horn.

Respectfully,

Andy

Andy Martin attack ads in New Hampshire’s U S Senate primary target Scott Brown for lying about Brown's military service

Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin has begun airing ads across New Hampshire attacking Scott Brown for lying, inflating and exaggerating Brown’s military service. Andy is gradually emerging as the only credible opponent to Scott Brown in the primary. The Chicago Tribune has previously called Andy “an absolutely brilliant campaigner.” Andy has been involved in radio and television for forty-six years.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin releases “hardball” attack ads against Scott Brown

(Manchester, NH) (May 16, 2014)

Dear Republican:

By the time you read this and listen to our new ads they will be running across the State of New Hampshire, informing Republicans and Independents that Brown has shamelessly and habitually lied about the true nature of his military service. [The ads are attached to emailed versions of this story and you are free to forward them around.]

On Tuesday of this week the Pentagon finally clipped Brown’s wings by canceling the “retirement” extravaganza Brown was planning as a photo op in his senate campaign. Federal law prohibits use of federal buildings for campaign-related activity. Brown planned to ignore and violate federal law.

New Hampshire Republican candidates typically run insipid advertising, and then lose to more aggressive Democrats. In 2013, Ovide Lamontagne said he was “surprised’ by the vehemence of the Democrats’ attacks on him. I am not surprised by anything the Democrats do.

I am committed to running a “maximum” campaign against Scott Brown in the primary and, after the primary, against Jeanne Shaheen. If Jennifer Horn and her cronies keep undermining and harassing my campaign by trying to block my appearing and speaking at Republican events, she will be responsible for my campaign continuing beyond the primary.

I would urge every sane Republican to contact Jennifer Horn and demand that she stop harassing my senate campaign. Horn’s misconduct is only going to end up with her being removed as chairman, and her dirty tricks against me backfiring on Brown.

What makes my campaign deliciously amusing is that local media pretend I don’t exist. They literally refuse to acknowledge my existence. In the meantime I am running the only effective anti-Brown campaign and demonstrating why I am the only candidate tough enough to take on New Hampshire Democrats in November.

How can the media pretend I don’t exist when I am blanketing the state with anti-Brown ads? Ask them. Maybe liberal reporters have a hearing problem. I am enjoying the high compliment of being shunned. The media’s hostility towards me is just one more confirmation I am honest and independent.

Granite Staters have been dreaming of a candidate who is tough, independent and conservative. Now that I’m here the media say “he doesn’t exist.” It laughable, and says more about media lies than it does about the shattering truths contained in my ads against Brown.

How can anyone seriously consider voting for Brown or supporting Brown after investigating Brown’s lies about his military career?

But then again Brown is not a “New Hampshire” candidate. Brown is the candidate who is financed by of out-of-state billionaires such as Chicago’s sleazy billionaire Joe Ricketts. Ricketts and his ilk just want to take control of your senate seat. For them, it’s just another trophy.

The choice is yours. The vote is yours. Don’t sell out to Joe Ricketts and Scott Brown’s other billionaire buddies.

Loyally,

Andy

P.S. Please do the right thing. Open your mind. Consider voting for me in the primary. You’ll be proud you did.

Andy Martin delivers a devastating psychological blow to “Slippery” Scott Brown

Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin explains why his primary opponent, “Slippery” Scott Brown, is down in the dumps. Over the past few days Andy has been pummeling Brown because of Brown’s exaggerated claims concerning brown’s military service. And the worst is yet to come. This week Andy launched powerful radio ads across New Hampshire attacking Brown for Stolen Valor (exaggerating your military service). Brown has suddenly realized he is in the fight of his life. He could lose the senate primary. Even if Brown wins the nomination, Jennifer Horn is playing so dirty that the primary will continue right into the general election. Brown faces a bleak political future. Brown, who bragged just two years ago that he met with “kings and queens on a daily basis,” could very well end up as a joker.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin launches “hardball” attacks on Scott Brown

Andy is airing ads charging Brown with “Stolen Valor” (accusing Brown of exaggerating Brown’s military service)

Andy says Brown is depressed and disoriented because Andy’s attacks prompted Pentagon officials to curtail Brown’s “retirement” extravaganza

(Manchester, NH) (May 15, 2014)

Dear Republican:

In his 2012 reelection campaign Scott Brown claimed he met on a daily basis with “kings and queens.” He was delusional. As recently as this year, Brown thought of himself as a presidential candidate. He was delusional. Brown’s presidential ambitions are about to be erased in the September senate primary. In the space of just a few months, despite the saturation media coverage he still receives, Brown’s political career is crashing and burning.

What happened?

A number of Republicans and several reporters have commented in the past few days about Scott Brown’s almost disoriented behavior. Are you wondering why Brown is down in the dumps?

Brown has been the recipient of devastating psychological blows from my own senate campaign.

In April, Brown announced that he would “retire” from the National Guard with an extravaganza at the Pentagon. I began researching Brown’s military record and found massive lies and exaggerations in his public statements. [In 2010 I had exposed Mark Kirk, also a Republican, and also a disgrace, as the greatest military fraud in recent history.]

Eventually I asked Pentagon officials to cancel or limit Brown’s bogus retirement, which was nothing more than an illegal use of federal property (the Pentagon) as a prop in Brown’s senate campaign.

Pentagon leaders apparently agreed with me. From what was originally planned as a massive media spectacular, this past Tuesday Brown simply slipped into the Pentagon with his wife and daughters, collected a bogus award from the “Maryland National Guard” where he exercised improper political influence, and left.

Brown has been psychologically devastated by the firepower I am concentrating on exposing his lies and defeating him for the senate nomination. It wasn't supposed to that way. Brown was promised a “cakewalk” primary. So, where’s the cake?

Here is some more analysis:

1. Scott Brown the military imposter

For years Brown has inflated and bloviated about his military service. He falsely claimed to have “served” in Afghanistan. He was there for seven (count’em 7) days meeting with other phony senators (including Mark Kirk, the biggest military imposter in recent history) and other high-ranking officials. Brown told the Union Leader that he carried a gun. More nonsense. The Department of Defense has strict rules prohibiting sitting members of congress who are also serving in the reserves from being in “imminent danger areas.” The Union Leader was fooled. Brown has claimed he “deployed” to Afghanistan. More lies. The Department of Defense has detailed regulations defining “service” and “deployments” and Brown did not qualify for either designation.

Exaggerating and inflating your military service is called “Stolen Valor.” Someone lying about their service is trying to “steal” some of the “valor” of those who actual served and deployed and were really in harm’s way. Brown even invented a phony “mortar attack” to sell paperback copies of his autobiography. On and on it goes.

People who exaggerate their military careers suffer from a form of mental illness.

In Brown’s 2012 reelection Massachusetts campaign Brown repeatedly and relentlessly lied about his Guard duties. He ran radio ads claiming to have “served” in Afghanistan. He made similar claims in debates. And he staged a “homecoming” with his wife after seven days in Afghanistan. If you didn’t trust the media before today, you can now see how so much of what passes for “news” is nothing but nonsense that enables political liars like Brown to aggrandize themselves.

2. My lawsuit exposing Brown as a military fraud

Earlier this week I filed a lawsuit seeking to bar Brown from repeating his Massachusetts lies in New Hampshire. Massachusetts is an antiwar, anti-military state. In New Hampshire we take military service seriously. Brown is going to have to defend himself against his long history of inflating and exaggerating his military service. No wonder he looks depressed and disoriented.

By reducing his “retirement” party to a brief entry/exit with his wife and daughters, Brown’s attempt to use the Pentagon as a “prop” for his senate campaign was eliminated.

You might ask, “Why file a lawsuit?” A lawsuit is a truth-seeking and truth-exposing device. If you lie in court, you pay a penalty. Brown will now have a judge reviewing his claims; an adverse ruling would end Brown’s local career and presidential hopes.

3. Brown made a couple of classic “military” mistakes

Brown failed to survey the battlefield in New Hampshire before he became a candidate. Brown was doing well, pulling in millions from Fox News and a law firm retainer. He was being treated as a presidential candidate even if he wasn’t one. Those days are gone. So what were his mistakes?

First, he listened go Jennifer Horn and some of the other New Hampshire GOP’s “leaders” who have been losing elections for decades. He didn’t do his own independent due diligence. I am sure Horn promised Brown he would face no meaningful opposition in the primary. The nomination was Brown’s for the taking. Obviously, that was a false statement.

Second, Brown believed his own blarney. Brown now realizes he faces a very formidable opponent in me. There are also the three “zombies” (Rubens, Smith and Testerman).

4. Jennifer Horn’s dirty tricks against my campaign are going to boomerang and possibly bring down the GOP ticket in November

Jennifer Horn has been working tirelessly to undermine my campaign. We will have more to say about that on Friday. But there is going to be a blowback and backlash for Horn and Brown, both during and after the primary.

If Horn (and Brown) continue to run a “dirty” primary against me, as they currently are, I will retaliate. I will take them out in November. You can't preach “party unity” when you are stabbing a legitimate candidate in the back. Horn “recruited” Brown to New Hampshire. If Horn keeps trying to protect Brown by undermining my campaign in the Republican Party primary, and by violating her sworn duties as a party official, both she and Brown will have a long hot summer.

If Horn ran an honest primary, she could expect party unity. But if she stabs me in the back, I will not stand next to a backstabber, or endorse a backstabber. Get the picture? Someone, some wayward Republican adult, should have “The Talk” with Horn. She is on a course to bring down the state ticket in the fall. Stay tuned.

5. Character is everything in the public arena

     A. Scott Brown basically has a weak character. As I continue to prepare a Psychological Profile on Brown (publication in the near future) I am amazed by just how weak Brown’s character really is. If it hadn’t been for the fluke of a senate race against an ineffective opponent, Brown would have continued to live in obscurity.

     B. You can love me or hate me but I am what I am: a tough fighter who is completely committed to public integrity. To summarize: I was supposed to attend UNH. Because of a fluke I got a chance to play football at the University of Illinois. Big Ten football is tough. I scrimmaged against people who are in the NFL Hall of Fame. Big Ten football toughens you in a way that can’t be described.

As a college student and later as a law school graduate I started forming close friendships with some of the most honest and bravest men in American politics. Senator Paul Douglas was one of the toughest men who ever served in the U. S. Senate. Senator Paul Simon was condemned by his own legislature -- for exposing corruption. Abner Mikva, Leland Rayson, Bob Mann, Dan Pierce, Adlai Stevenson III, all of these men were corruption fighters in the Illinois legislature. They inspired me. They stood for public integrity and honest government in a legislative body where the Crime Syndicate had its own state senator. Later I fought organized crime in Chicago. So, yes, by any objective measurement, I am tough.

In 2008, when the McCain campaign collapsed I fought back against Barack Obama’s lies. I tried to help Mitt Romney in 2012, but Mitt simply wasn’t tough enough for Obama’s thugs. The Chicago boys and girls in Obama’s campaign ate Romney’s lunch. Closer to home, Ovide Lamontagne admitted in 2013 that he was surprised by the ferocity of the Democratic Party’s attacks on him in 2012. What did Ovide expect? In general, Republicans do not field tough candidates. Which is why they are the minority party.

So, yes, “toughness” in a candidate matters. Toughness is an essential ingredient when fighting against an incumbent senator. Brown lacks that crucial element of character. That is why Brown, who is suddenly faced with a ferocious opponent, is stunned at how tough the senate primary is becoming.

I am the only Republican senate candidate who is tough enough to take on Jeanne Shaheen and the brawlers in the New Hampshire Democratic Party. Toughness is built into my character. It is not a part of the character of my senate opponents.

6. For Brown, the worst is yet to come

This week I started airing two powerful “Stolen Valor” attacks on Scott Brown. If the ads are effective we’ll try to keep them on the air until the primary if we raise any money to support my campaign. Brown can spend millions, but most of Brown's spending will be canceled out by opposition ads attacking him. My advertisements are going to leave lingering doubts in the minds of Republican voters. They couldn’t trust Brown in Massachusetts, why should be trust him in New Hampshire?

Once Brown hears the ads, he may even decide not to run for the senate and go back to where he was, a pseudo-presidential candidate who can travel around the country lying about his military service without having to worry about Andy chasing him with the truth (I am sticking to my knitting in New Hampshire).

We will be distributing the radio ads Thursday night. If you can’t wait, send us an email and receive them early.

Interesting, isn’t it? Mr. Brown of great renown is probably on his way. Out of town.

Loyally,

Andy

P.S. Please do the right thing. Open your mind. Consider voting for me in the primary. You’ll be proud you did.

Andy Martin: Monica Lewinsky may be the most powerful woman in America today

U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin says Monica Lewinsky may be “the most powerful woman in America today.” Andy says Monica could single-handedly bring down Hillary’s presidential campaign by raising questions about Hillary’s integrity. Andy feels Monica is to be commended for coming forth with her interview of experiences in the Bill Clinton White House. Andy has “the talk” with New Hampshire Republicans and says the GOP need not fear an honest discussion of Hillary Clinton’s fractured personal history. Andy also speculates about the accuracy of claims that Scott Brown may have personal problems of his own in Boston.

Andy says Hillary Clinton must address the ghosts of Bill Clinton and apologize to Lewinsky before running for president

Andy says Republicans do not need to “fear” discussing the Clintons’ fractured history in the White House

Andy calls Monica Lewinsky possibly “the most powerful woman in America”

(Manchester, NH) (May 8, 2014)

Dear Republican and New Hampshire citizen:

Today we are going to have “the talk.” If you are embarrassed reading about or discussing “sex,” please read no further.

1. My history in Washington

When I went to the Illinois General Assembly as an intern many years ago, I learned about “Springfield wives.” Legislators would hire “farm girls” and turn them into concubines so that they would have sex readily available during the legislative sessions. Not surprisingly, the legislative sessions became longer and longer over the years. Similar practices exist in other state legislatures. It’s repugnant behavior.

When I went to work for a U. S. Senator I knew he did not have a girl friend. I knew because I was his driver for several months. I can still remember the street number of his home address and his phone number, after all these years. But my senator was a close private friend of President Johnson. Their friendship was to alter the course of my life. And, unavoidably, I also came to find out about President Johnson’s girl friends. One name still sticks in my mind.

I have been in and out of Washington over the past forty-nine years. And I helped out investigating more than one congressional sex scandal. Remember Representative Wayne Hays? I do. And so it goes.

Ordinary men and women go to Washington after being elected in their home states as senators and representatives. The Capitol allows them to think of themselves as gods. Staffers, especially young women, treat them as though they are gods. Scott Brown was not immune to an inflated sense of self-importance. During the 2012 campaign Brown famously told Massachusetts voters that he (Brown) met with “kings and queens” every day. Wow!

Is it any surprise that sexual escapades take place in the charged atmosphere of Washington? No surprise to me. I have seen it all.

And it is equally true that recent college graduates, both men and women, think they know it all. Men and women go to Washington seeking power. And, as former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger once stated, “Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac.” But it can be a very capricious aphrodisiac.

2. Lewinsky’s tragic encounter with Bill Clinton

Recently a book was published by a New York socialite who wrote about being seduced, and ultimately abandoned, by President John F. Kennedy. Jack Kennedy was the ultimate seducer. Senator Ted Kennedy? Say no more. Others? The list is long. Remember Representative Gary Condit? Senator Gary Hart?

Thus Lewinsky’s “encounter” with Bill Clinton came as no surprise to me. What was surprising was that Clinton chose to debase the Oval Office and satisfy his sexual appetite right in the heart of the peoples’ house. I have learned about and looked into a lot of sex scandals but Clinton’s was about as coarse and despicable about any imaginable.

And, yes, Monica is right. The sexual encounter was “consensual.” Why would an impressionable young woman turn down the importunations of the president? It was a genuinely disorienting experience. Monica may have flirted with Mr. Clinton. But all of us flirt a little, every day. But we don’t expect our kind remarks and harmless banter to result in a stranger taking us into a closet and demanding sexual satisfaction.

Lewinsky was literally “in the moment.” She obviously had no idea what could happen, and did happen, because she lacked any Washington experience.

Lewinsky didn’t expect Hillary Clinton to unleash her dogs. But Hillary was experienced at destroying Lewinsky’s predecessors. Hillary started demolishing Monica’s character and mental state with relish. Bill Clinton had an experienced sexual response team to protect him: Team Hillary.

Hillary’s behavior and her unhinged state of mind remind me of the movie about unwed mothers that were tortured by Irish nuns. Hillary was the Irish nun par excellance; Monica was her “pregnant” charge. The results were not surprising.

Because the Clintons are political psychopaths, they shred peoples’ lives with impunity and spit them out with immunity, with no more than a passing glance. Monica was just “road kill” for Hillary. Hillary had killed off a lot of “Monicas” before Monica, and Hillary has probably killed off “Monicas” after Monica. Indeed, if you look deeply into Freud, Hillary’s glee in butchering Bill’s paramours was a perverted form of satisfaction for Mrs. Clinton.

Bill didn’t commit just one mistake in an otherwise admirable marriage. The Clinton marriage itself was nothing more than a political sham.

3. Bill Clinton is a sexual predator

Bill Clinton and I both came of age in the 1960’s. The social construct that had hitherto existed started to crumble with the arrival of “the pill” and other contraceptive methods. Many young people were in rebellion. Suffice it to say I know the era in which Bill Clinton came of age.

Knowing Bill Clinton’s “era” is what makes me so amazed at his relentless behavior as a sexual predator. Clinton was not just a seducer, à la Jack Kenney. Bill Clinton was an exhibitionist, rapist and manifested all sorts of other aggressive sexual action. If Clinton had merely romanced a real “girl friend” in the White House, and slipped away to somewhere on Connecticut Avenue for an occasional assignation, no one would have ever known about any of his “Monicas.”

But Clinton was not satisfied with women his age. With Clinton, “sex” was about power and domination, not about sex. His infidelity was as much about inflicting pain on Hillary as it was about providing pleasure to himself. Bill took on all comers. He was an indiscriminate predator.

Monica was young enough to be the president’s daughter. Clinton exercised no caution, no self-restraint, no self-respect. And then he lied. He was the living embodiment of a psycho-sexual predator. He was the embodiment of evil.

Whatever was “wrong” with Clinton hasn't disappeared into the ashcan of his former life. Bill may suppress the “monster” aspects of his personality, as Hillary has suppressed her “monster” tendencies. But their flawed characters are merely hidden beneath the surface of their smiles. To return Bill to the White House, even as First Husband, would probably reopen his floodgates to more sexual infidelities, more embarrassments and more emotional abuse of the now-President Hillary.

Who needs this? After eight years of Obama?

4. Ron Paul did the Republican Party a service

Ron Paul did the Republican Party a service: he raised the issue of Monica Lewinsky in the context of the Democratic Party’s hypocritical attacks on Republicans for a fallacious “war on women.” Senator Paul was attacked by other Republicans for even uttering the words “Monica Lewinsky.” On the contrary, Senator Paul should be congratulated for raising the issue of the “fitness” of both Clintons to ever again reside in the White House.

It is clear that Hillary Clinton is a deeply conflicted and deeply repressed woman who has had to swallow all of Bill’s infidelities in her relentless crusade to be elected president in her own right. But can’t we look back at how she acted and reacted when she lived in the White House? Do we have to put on blinders as to her firing of the travel staff, her abusive treatment of workers and the way she orchestrated and directed the character assassination of every woman who had “sexual relations with that man?”

It is not enough to say that what happened between the Clinton’s is a private matter. Our experience with eight years of the Clintons confirms that how we live our private lives has a direct impact on how we deal with our public responsibilities, and how we conduct ourselves under stress. In a famous 2008 TV commercial, Hillary Clinton confronted candidate Obama about the potential for a “3:00 A.M. telephone call.” But when that “call” ultimately arrived on September 11, 2012, Clinton botched her response to the Benghazi challenge. Obama? He went to bed and hid under his sheets.

The fact that Hillary Clinton has spent forty years “privately” internalizing Bill Clinton’s infidelities is a matter that almost every psychologist would concede is an important factor in assessing her personality now that she is approaching another presidential campaign. Character is formed and informed by experience; Hillary Clinton has been experiencing infidelity and emotional /physical/ sexual denial for forty years.

5. Where do we go from here?

When the news broke that a major new Monica Lewinsky interview was coming this week both liberal and “conservative” media went into full conniption mode. Lewinsky is a disruptive factor in a potential presidential race. The Clintons want to forget and erase their “history,” and focus exclusively on their plans for the “future.” But the reappearance of Monica Lewinsky forces the Clintons to confront the “character” issue. When and how and why did Bill become a sexual predator? He was almost certainly a predator before his marriage to Hillary Rodham. After he married her his abusive behavior was even more pronounced.

And how did Hillary’s emotions and her psyche survive forty years of emotional abuse? Many psychologists would say that emotional abuse -- especially sexual emotional abuse and compulsive philandering - would inflict much more damage on a spouse than mere arguments over the family budget. Hillary is an emotionally abused and emotionally beaten woman who has endured forty years of extreme emotional and psychological torture. We are told this is all part of her unquenchable ambition to be elected president. That’s doesn’t change the “content of her character.” Or her emotional unsuitability to serve as president.

In her highest office to date, Secretary of State, Hillary was totally ineffective (more on that in a future letter). Ironically she ended up serving under another emotionally damaged and unbalanced male though, thankfully, Barack Obama does not appear to be a compulsive womanizer (see my 2007 psychological profile of Obama for a chillingly accurate prediction of how ineffective Obama would be in the White House; it’s in my book [below] and on the Internet).

6. The Bottom line: Monica Lewinsky is a courageous woman

Monica is now 40. Her life has obviously been scarred by her encounter with Bill Clinton. But her life has been scarred as much by Hillary’s character assassination as Bill’s infidelity. Monica has apologized for her poor judgment. Hillary Clinton never has. Will it take a presidential campaign to pry loose the truth from Hillary’s “cold, dead heart?” Thanks Monica; no thanks Hillary.

Actually, today Monica Lewinsky, not Michele Obama, may be the most powerful woman in America. If Lewinsky returns to “silence,” the Clintons may pull off their latest scam and use their daughter as a stage prop to masquerade as a happy family during the 2016 campaign.

But if Monica continues to speak, ever so softly, but with the compelling truth of her unbelievable narrative, she could single-handedly bring down the Clinton presidential campaign and put an end to America’s “long national nightmare” with Bill and Hillary.

Monica, are you up to the task of being a truth teller, whatever the cost and whatever the price you personally have to pay? Time will tell.

And as for Republicans, all they have to do is stand by silently and roll their eyes.

In my humble opinion a nation that would return the Clintons to the White House is a nation that has taken leave of its senses and lost all sense of its national honor.

Sincerely,

Andy

P.S. “Hey, Andy, what about you?”

If you send me to Washington, there will not be any sex scandals in my office. None. Period. I have not led a perfect life. No one has. But I have learned enough through life to know what should be expected of a public official. As for the reports about Scott Brown having a girl fiend, we will have to see how that plays out. Mr. Brown has shown extremely bad judgment in other areas of his life. It would not surprise me if he has to confront a “bimbo eruption.” There are elements of Scott Brown’s and Gail Huff’s marriage that remind me of the Clintons.
